Are You Just A Dreamer? Or do you want to live your dreams…?
Do you want to have regrets when you grow older that you didn’t do the things you have a chance to start doing today? Right now? Read this quote, by a 89 year old woman and see if it resonates with you:
“If I had my life to live over again, I’d try to make more mistakes next time. I would relax. I’d be sillier than I have been on this trip. I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers and watch more sunsets. I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones. Oh, I’ve had my moments, and if I had to do it all over again I’d have more of them. In fact I’d try to have nothing else, just moments, one after another…I would pick more flowers.” Nadine Stair
So many of us have dreams, that just stay dreams, whereas others somehow manage to make their dreams come true. Some people somehow become outrageously successful and we look at them with envy, read about them in glossy magazines and think “why can’t that be me?”. Well, I’m here to tell you that it can!
I have made it my purpose in life to help people achieve their potential, to climb their own Everest. I’m telling you that you can be and do whatever you want. How do you know that you can’t unless you try? You might say: “I know I can’t as I’ve already tried!” So…you’ve stopped trying? I guess that means you’ve given up…quit…because the going was getting tough…?
Often, the nearer you get to your goal, the higher the hurdles seem, the bigger the risks…but if you just have someone there with you, on the same page, the same wavelength as you, someone to encourage you, to say “come on, keep going, you’re doing so well…” that would give you the confidence and the courage to cover that final stretch, take those final steps, to the pinnacle of success.
When I was climbing Mount Everest, the higher I got the harder it got because the less oxygen there was. And on the day I climbed to the summit I couldn’t believe how technically difficult it was. I had imagined it to be a walk up snow slopes, but instead I was confronted by rock walls and slabs, which were exhausting to climb up at 8848 metres, with only 30% of the oxygen we have at sea level.
I was really lucky that I had my ‘Life Coach’ Sherpa with me, as even if I had thought of quitting, I know he would have said the right things to help me keep going and just having him there by my side gave me the courage and the confidence to walk that knife edge ridge the highest summit on this beautiful Planet.
So….are you just a dreamer? Do you want to regret the things that you didn’t do, or didn’t at least try doing? Or do you want to really live your life and your dreams?
